The HOWL2 is a surge protective device (SPD) for communication and signal lines, designed for automatic fire alarm equipment and multi-line circuits with up to 10 core wiring. Compliant with IEC 61643-21 (Category C2/D1) and RoHS, it is available in versions for alarm transfer and sensor lines, instrumentation loops (DC 4-20 mA), bell and display light circuits, and RS485 with maintenance telephone. It includes an LED deterioration indicator, a replacement recommendation display and a lightning surge count display, so maintenance can be planned before protection is lost. Its registered design and 35 mm DIN rail mounting make installation simple in control and alarm panels.
